I'm so sorry for not updating in so long. I'm terribly busy with college and can't seem to find the time. I'll try and post whenever I can, but I'm mostly on MSN. For those of you who want talk, just add me: thepurpleearth@hotmail.com

  I'm not dead.

Don't have time to write a proper entry, so here's the list of what has happened:

1.) Started college. I have a Progress Tutor that looks like a rodent and seems to have no concept of personal space. She scares me.
2.) Got my hair cut. For those of who that have actually met me (all two of you), you will know that my hair was pretty damn long. Well, now it's not. :-)

Um...I believe that's it. Must go and do homework. I don't want to have to do it at 5 in the morning again. I'll update later, I promise.

OK, I lied. I shall explain why. My Dad turned off his computer, just as I clicked send on the last entry. we run on a network, so his computer needs to be on and connected in order for my computer the have internet access. I don't know why he just doesn't check the little symbol in the corner of the screen that tells him whether or not I'm still using my computer. Is that too damn difficult? Can you tell he is irritating me? I've been stuck with him this holiday and he's driving me crazy. He laughs when I walk into a room, lies about it (and other things), how is that supposed to make me want to spend MORE time with him? And when I say I'd prefer to go shopping with Mum, he gets annoyed. Grrr. Yes, you needed to know that.

Anyway, I switched his computer back on, re-connected to the internet. He said I shouldn't be on at this time, but now I'm just being stubborn because he's annoying me so much and as I have nothing better to do (I was about to switch off my computer, anyway, but as I said, I'm stubborn) you get the rest of the pictures.

This Thursday, I was able to collect my GCSE results. I have 4 A* GCSEs, 4 A Grade GCSEs and 3 B GCSEs. At least I can definitely get into college with those results!

Anyway, the main reason for this post is to put up the picture of BLOOD I took at last weekend’s concert.

Beware, a lot of very crappy photos under this cut )

It was my birthday on Tuesday. I'm now 16. August is a busy month for my family, as a lot of us were born in this month. I was born on the 2nd, my Mother and her twin Sister celebrate their birthday tomorrow, my cousin Emily's son, Josh has his birthday and my cousin Vacie's daughter, Jess has hers too. My brother Antony also celebrates his birthday this month, along with his son. I think...I have no idea when Jimmy was born. I think it was the 30th of August. Not sure. I'm not going to be winning any prizes for the world's best Aunt, am I? In all fairness, I've only ever seen Jimmy twice. My brother's wife is from Cambodia, and they spend half of the year over there. He came back recently, visiting us on Monday. Thomas (aka Jimmy) has grown up a lot since I saw him last. His hair has grown back brown (it used to be black) and he's crawling around and walking a few steps, too. He's so cute!

I've also got to enroll for college this month. I don't even know if I can take all the courses I wanted to, as I'm still waiting on a call from the college, letting me know if there are any time table clashes.
My other brother, Richard (I have three) also visited last weekend. He lives in Germany, so we don't see him often. He also brought his girlfriend, Conny, to meet us. She's a really nice person and her English is very good. We spent Saturday showing her around York, visiting the Minster, the city walls, the Jorvik Centre amongst other things. It rained almost all day, so around lunch time we went into a cafe. Conny and I ordered hot chocolate which turned out to be melted chocolate in a cup. She is originally from Spain, and she told me that the eat things like that for breakfast with bread. Anyway, neither of us could drink (eat?) the whole cup, so my Dad and Richard finished them off.

Also this month, I get the results of my GCSEs. I'm dreading that, I know I've done badly on my exams. I should've revised much more than I did. I just hope I pass History, Science and German. If not, my plans are wrecked!

I went to the dentist today. I have a lump on my gum. It's only small, but it's not going away. The dentist had it X-rayed, by putting this plastic square with a tube attached into my mouth (which was very uncomfortable). Basically, there is a large abscess in my gum. The X-ray showed a big black dot, about the size of the top part of my tooth. He said that the nerve in my tooth had decayed, so I have two options. Either I have the tooth removed, or sit through the long process of them cleaning the inside of my tooth out. Apparently it takes a long time to do so, but I don't particularly want my tooth removed, so I have another appointment booked for early September. The tooth in question is the only tooth with a filling as well. It's an evil tooth. I did have another filling, but it was a baby tooth and easily influenced by the evil tooth XD!

Dir en grey in Paris - 24 July 2005
07:29pm 25/07/2005
This concert killed me. Seriously. I was in the balcony, and I have more bruises then I did after Berlin, when I was in the pit.

Anyway, my review of the concert. I've had 4 hours sleep between the concert and now, so if my typing goes all funny, I fell asleep on the keyboard.

I have split this review into sections, so if you don't want to read anything that's not directly about the concert, you can skip the first parts.

I went to the doctors again today, to get the results of my blood test. basically, my iron stores have improved from 9 to 16, but anything under 20 is still considered low, so I have to take iron tablets 3 times daily. They're just worried that I might end up being Anemic.
The reason I'm telling you this, is that I would like to state that the tablets can cause side effects which I do not want this weekend (DIR EN GREY IN PARIS. YAY!). It would ruin the concert for me if I react badly to these tablets, and I don't think my Dad would be pleased about spending all the money on going to a foreign country just for me to have a horrid experience *sigh*

Yeah, just me complaining about trivial things. If I complained about some of the bigger issues, you'd all think I was nuts!

The London explosions are on 3 of the 5 terrestrial channels. God, I'm glad we don't live anywhere near London. My brother lives near, but not in the area of the attacks.
I woke up this morning and turned on the television to those headlines and I just sat staring at the screen for the next few hours. I've got it on in my room whilst I'm typing this and I'm hearing that at least 12 are confirmed dead.

This is horrible. Especially since it is the start of G8. And yesterday, we were all celebrating at being chosen to host the Olympics in 2012. The scenes on the television are quite different. Yesterday, thousands of people were gathered in trafalgar square for a celebration and now I'm seeing pictures of people in shock.

And apparently many people will claim responsibility. What sort of person wants to claim responsibility for a thing like this? Whether they did it or not, why would they want to? Id od not understand people like this.

My feelings go out to those that are injured and the families of those who lost their lives, and I hope nothing else this horrible happens again, in London, the rest of britain, or any other country of the world.

  I hate window cleaners!

When they come to clean our windows... )

My Dad gave me a gaming magazine the other day. He said it was old. It has FFX on the cover and a walkthrough for Jak and Daxter: the Precursor Legacy. It's also dated 2002, so, yea, it's kinda old.
The following is a ramble about the Jak games. Skip if you're not interested. Also - SPOILERS )

Well, I'm back from Berlin. And Dir en Grey rocked the Halle to the next universe!!!!!!!!! I'm a bit jet lagged at the moment, but it's only just hit me that I saw Dir en Grey live yesterday, so I'm completely hyper and can't sleep at all. So, here's my accounting of what happened. It may need to be updated again tomorrow, as I'll have forgotten some thing in my sleep deprived state.

Yay TheFLARE fanlisting is back up.

http://www.shinjuu.net/theflare

It needs a new layout though. Ack, I'll get right on it!

Last Friday was brilliant (it was our Prom. God knows why they call it a Prom, because that's an American term for end of high school dance). And I though i'd be stuck in a corner being bored. Psssk! I'm really glad I went!
My exams are...not going so well. Even the teachers are saying that the papers are really hard this year. I feel like I'm going to fail all my GCSEs, and I've only done a couple of exams. I'm done for this week though. And next week. And I'm going to Germany this weekend. Or, Gremany, as my friend insists on calling it after a typo I made over MSN. I'm getting quite excited now. Hopefully I'll be able to go to Dir en grey's concert in France as well. My friend said she's pay for me, so I'm not exactly complaining, although I doubt very much that she actually will. Or that she'll actually go. Oh well. I'm going to Germany, I'm happy!

Well, today was my Year 11 School Leaver's Day. The last day of school for me before study leave for my exams. This whole year has gone by so fast. I remember thinking 'Wow, we're leaving this year' and now we actually have. I think it's finally sinking in. I was fine today, it didn't really have an effect on me. Today has really been a fun day, with so much going on I don't think I had time to notice that we were leaving. However, now I'm at home I'm realising that I don't have to go to school tomorrow.

Yesterday I went to Harrogate, as a few of my friends and I were performing our Drama coursework at a NSPCC conference. It was a complete coincidence that our play happened to raise some of the issues that were being discussed at the conference, and a couple of my teachers were involved so we got the chance to attend. There were about 130 people at the conference, including Senior managers from Social Services, Health Service, Education and the Voluntary Sector and they were discussing the current issues around how to keep children and young people safe. I'm quite psyched that we were involved, it was an amazing experience. And we got a free lunch with mushroom strogonov (I can't spell that!) and weird little mini chocolate cheesecake thingies.Read more... )

Dir en grey
05:11pm 04/04/2005
I just heard about Dir en grey going to Berlin. I asked my Dad and I got the conditioned response of "I'll think about it", which isn't a 'no' ^^

I know it's right in the middle of my study leave for my GCSEs, but it won't be very long and I can study on the plane. I hope I can go *fingers crossed*

Well, just some icons I made eons ago. I'm not promising anything spectacular, these aren't exactly my best, but they were just sitting around on my computer doing nothing, so if you can find a use for them, go ahead!

There are a lot, so please be patient.

Credits to places for images, textures and brushes are on my info page.

Most of these were originally 120x120px as they were made for baka.dk, so if you want the original, just let me know and I'll send it to you.

So, for a first livejournal layout, it's not bad. OK, so I borrowed some code from http://pootato.org/, but I just couldn't figure out how to get the tables where they were supposed to go, damnit. Well, I'll officially start being more active from now on, now I have a ton of school work to do and not enough time to do it in [read: have Tatsurou to look at on my livejournal...].

Roshiweb.com and vbrush for the brushes,

Pootato.org for some of the code.

Yesterday, I watched (most of) Breakfast at Tiffany's. I missed the actual breakfast at Tiffany's part though, i.e. the bit Shinya posed as...I think o.O No, I didn't just watch the movie because of Shinya. OK so I might have watched the movie just because of Shinya. Maybe.

I'm also an Aunt now. My brother's son was born last night. Yay. Maybe now I can meet his wife...^^;
